Hi , Webmistress,
Make sure you add to the site that I will have a story about the Ledge in an
upcoming issue of the Wayne State University Alumni Magazine. When I know when,
I'll tell you. Lots of people from the Ledge and Palmer House are sprinkled
throughout the article. The old photos will be from Ken Hall and a few others.

Rumor has it that aliens abducted the reunion reviews and photos.......
August 1, 2003
Greetings! We're back on U.S. soil, after being touristas in Costa Rica.
Would like to get some writings on how the reunion went to fill the rest of us in. How about folks in attendance, schedules, menus, events, humorous happenings, songs sung, travel adventures, pie eating contests, yodeling contests, potato sack races, best joke told, who fell in the fountain, pond, river or lake, and any sightings of aliens or Mr. Barker. Any Highland dancing? Did anyone remember to bring a fly swatter to the picnic? Did TJ's give an AARP discount? Please send your thoughts, feelings stories and fictions to ledgepalmer@yahoo.com and we will compile them on this site to share with those of us who wish we had at least been there to win the door prize.
We're ready to take photos of the reunion at ledgepalmer@yahoo.com . Make sure to label photos with names and dates. Also, it's always fun to get oldies, as well. Please do not send too many at once as there is only so much I can handle at a time besides the limitation of inbox space. If my inbox should become full and your email bounces, then try again later. Excitedly looking forward to photos, as are others..
..........Diana :)

Okay gang, just one last email before Friday,
Things have really come together and we going to have a great weekend. We have
about 40 plus people coming to the dinner at TJ's Friday night and about 30-35
people coming to the picnic. That's a pretty good showing considering the limited
amount of time we've had to plan this reunion. Some us haven't seen each other
in almost 30 years! We have a lovely location for the picnic thanks to Richard
(Al) Tschirhardt and plenty of food and drinks and activities planned for all.
There's just one last bit of business to take care of. As Kenny mentioned in
an earlier email we will be asking those attending the picnic to contribute
$10 (there is no up front cost for the dinner since it is no host affair) to
help defray the cost of putting this shin dig on. That way we will be able to
reimburse those that have willingly paid for things in advance. You can pay
either me, Ken Hall or George Haddad at the picnic.
A special thanks to Sophie Tatarian who through her family business is supplying
several of the food stuffs we will be enjoying at the picnic. Yeaaaaaa Sophie!!!
I thank I speak for all of us that have been envolved in the planning for this
event when I say...It's been a real labor of love.
I look forward to seeing each of you,
Larry

Okay you Ledgers/Palmerites,
I hope everybody had a good 4th of July. Now on with the event of the decade....laffin
This is the last email from me before I see you all at the reunion starting
Friday night. There's just one last bit of business before then. We need a final
count of people coming to the picnic on Saturday in order buy enough food and
drink for the bar-be-que. Since we will be buying the food Thursday/Friday we
need your answer before then so PLEASE respond with the number of you and your
guest that intend to come Saturday.
We (me, Ken, George and Richard) really look forward to seeing everyone!!!!
Larry
This is just a short note to let you know the latest as the reunion approaches:
First, it's come to our attention that some of you coming from out of town may
be in need of lodging. It would be fun if all of us coming from out of town
(and even those that live locally) stayed in the same hotel. We will try to
get a block of rooms at a hotel in a convenient location and if possible negotiate
a group discount. The 3 hotels that currently (emphasis on current) have available
rooms are:
Marriott Detroit Renaissance Center for $119.00 per night
Pontchartrain $113.00 per night
St. Regis (new center area) $ 99.00-129 per night
These rates are for rooms with 2 double beds so that people can room together and split the cost if so desired. Also, all require advanced reservations with a credit card. If you have a preference please indicate in your response. If there is a consensus we will reserve a block of rooms in that particular hotel. It will be the individuals' responsibility to book and pay for their own room.
Second, on Friday night July 11th we are definitely going to the Traffic Jam for no host cocktails and dinner. Cocktails will probably start around 6 with dinner at or around 7:30. We intend to reserve a separate room at T.J.'s so we're not in the open seating area and can all be together.
In order to facilitate the planning( book rooms, buy food and drink etc.) we need two things:
Head count. We need to know both how many (i.e. significant others, children)
and by day and activity.
Are you interested in hotel lodging as a group?
WE NEED YOUR REPLY BY SATURDAY JUNE 14TH! Simply reply to this email....Thanks!
We're looking forward to seeing everybody in July....stay safe!
Larry

Greetings everybody.....
You haven't heard from us in a while but we're still working on that reunion. Yes, it's still on. Thanks to Richard (Al) Tschirhart we've got a very nice location for the picnic. He found an island park just adjacent to Kensington Park and the nice thing is it's not overly crowded so we won't be cheek to cheek with a crowds and crowds of others who come into the parks for the day. We should basically (and hopefully) have this area somewhat to ourselves. What we need to do now is to get a head count of all who plan to be there or hopes to be there. If it turns out you can't make it, at least the spirit of your wanting to be there will fill the void. Please e-mail me or Larry (ljmoore@pacbell.net) back as soon as you can to let us know if it's a yea or a nay . Then if you can, let everyone that you can think of, know about this. If they have an e-address send that to us. If they don't, then let us have a postal address and we'll send a post card to them to alert them as to what's going on. Oh, and the official date for the picnic is July 12th so you can mark that down on your calendars, or palm-pilots or whatever. We will eventually have to collect a little $$ from everyone so that Larry and I can provide all the goodies to chow down on and to also repay Richard for anteing up the fee for the park space. We'll come up with a figure on that and let you know. And, worry not, it will be smaller than the national debt. I think that's all for now. If I or Larry can think of anything else later on we'll let you know. I have three e-mail addresses but you can either reply to this one or send a msg to me at kennthelad@aol.com
Ciao to everyone for now. Looking forward to hearing from you and seeing all of these not seen for years faces, soon.
Ken
